Youth Health Services

Services

Youth health services in NSW are specialised and targeted health services for marginalised young people who, due to their personal circumstances, have limited access to mainstream, child and adult health services. Youth health services offer services and programs that are tailored to the needs of marginalised young people, and take on a social view of health, acknowledging that issues such as housing, education, employment, racism and poverty need to be addressed as these issues impact on the choices and subsequent health status of an individual.

Youth health services are located in areas of extreme disadvantage and offer a range of programs and services such as prevention and early intervention initiatives, free primary health clinics, counselling, health promotion, alcohol and other drug services, case management and out-reach and drop-in health services.
